On the 23rd, the "Light of Textile" 2016 China Textile Industry Federation Science and Technology Education Achievement Award Conference was held in Beijing. Li Lingshen, Vice President of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, pointed out in his speech at the conference that China's textile technology has made significant progress during the 12th Five Year Plan period, but there is still a certain gap between the level of technology and the requirements of the goal of building a strong textile country.

Li Lingshen pointed out that during the 12th Five Year Plan period, the textile industry has achieved a series of innovative results in fiber materials, textiles, dyeing and finishing, industrial textiles, textile equipment, information technology and other fields, realizing breakthroughs in key and common technologies throughout the industry, and overall improving the industry's independent innovation ability, technical equipment level and product development ability.

However, overall, there are still some issues with the technological development of the textile industry. The construction and operation mechanism of the industry innovation system are not perfect, and innovation resources are scattered, making it difficult to collaborate and integrate innovation for common key technologies in the industry. The conversion rate of scientific and technological achievements is relatively low, and some scientific research results are limited to laboratories and have not been industrialized or commercialized; Some key technologies are difficult to radiate to the entire industry due to competition and profit distribution issues. There is still a significant gap between technological innovation and advanced countries, with insufficient independent and integrated innovation capabilities. Small and medium-sized enterprises have weaker innovation capabilities due to a lack of funding and talent. Insufficient basic research and development of common key technologies have affected the overall technological level of the industry. The bottleneck in the development and application of high-end industrial textiles still exists, and new breakthroughs are needed in clean production technologies to meet higher environmental requirements. The level of intelligent manufacturing and information technology applications still needs to be improved, and standardization construction is still relatively lagging behind.

Li Lingshen emphasized that during the 13th Five Year Plan period, it is necessary to strengthen the basic research of textile science, promote the research and development of major key common technologies in the industry, accelerate the application and promotion of advanced and applicable technologies, optimize and improve the collaborative innovation system of textile science and technology, and strengthen the construction of standard support system.
