Mid-Autumn Festival comes to us with light steps

Release time:2013-09-19

When it comes to Mid Autumn Festival, what makes people yearn for is the round moon in the sky. There is an ancient poem that goes: From the moon to the Mid Autumn Festival, it is particularly bright. Watching the moon at night accompanied by a cool breeze can always inspire people's emotions such as reunion, fulfillment, and longing. But when I was young, when I talked about Mid-Autumn Festival, the first thing I thought of was "eating moon cakes". After finishing dinner, the whole family went to the cement floor in front of the house and gathered around a small round table. We were eating sweet mooncakes while listening to our father recount countless mythological stories, such as Chang'e flying to the moon, Wu Gang conquering osmanthus, and the jade rabbit pounding medicine.

After listening to the story, we eagerly gathered with our neighbors' friends. We carried mooncakes in our arms, comparing the sweetness and size of each family's mooncakes. We even played games such as hide and seek under the moon or "playing house" until late at night. As for admiring the moon, I never thought about it.

When I was studying in junior high school, I occasionally got together with my classmates on the Mid-Autumn Festival and talked about appreciating the moon, but what I remembered was whether the mooncakes were sweet or not, which was far from the level of appreciation and exploration. Until high school, I read Su Dongpo's words and phrases: I hope people can last long and share the beauty of a thousand miles. Only then did I develop the idea of paying attention to and appreciating the moon, and I became more concerned about the beauty in my heart. Later on, studying abroad was like a kite with a broken string, always far away from my hometown and drifting far and wide. Every time I miss home, I realize that 'raising my head to look at the bright moon, lowering my head to think of my hometown'; Being alone in a foreign land as a stranger, I miss my family even more during festivals. But now, in my heart, the serene poetry and peaceful state of mind of admiring the moon at the Mid Autumn Festival village can make you experience the pleasure of returning to nature, and it can completely relax your body and mind. Strolling quietly on the country road, basking in the moonlight to the fullest, letting your thoughts wander, listening to the chirping of insects and frogs, and finding a long lost relaxed and joyful state of mind in the moonlight bath.

Throughout history, the moon rises and falls, the moon is full and the moon is short. This is actually an ordinary natural phenomenon, but due to the rich emotions of human beings, it constantly becomes beautiful and vibrant, carrying a long history and profound culture, many legends, many expectations, many sorrows, many lovesickness, and many joys and sorrows. Therefore, during the Mid Autumn Festival, if you don't have Wu Gang, Jade Rabbit, or Osmanthus Tree in your heart, it means your heart is a desert.

I wish everyone a happy Mid Autumn Festival! Family reunion!
